Brent Active Together – Test & Learn Pilot

Families on Wheels is a free, one-hour private family skating experience delivered through Brent Active Together – Test & Learn, in partnership with TETH Youth & Adult Service, StreetGames, and RollaDome All Skate. 

This programme is designed to explore how shared family movement — such as learning to skate together — can support confidence, communication, wellbeing, and positive family relationships. 

Your participation and feedback will directly help design Brent’s future Family Learn-to-Skate Programme. 

❗ IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ 

This form is an APPLICATION for a place. It does NOT secure a booking. 
Because this is a funded pilot with only 14 family sessions available: 

• Up to 3 families may apply for each time slot 
• Only 1 family per slot will be selected 
• A decision letter will be sent to confirm whether: 
  ✔ Your family has secured a place 
  ✔ You have been offered an alternative session 
  ✔ You have been added to the waiting list 

Submitting the application means you understand and agree to this process. 

🧾 Consent Requirements (Mandatory) 
All participating families must provide consent for: 

• Safety, participation and use of equipment 
• Sharing anonymised feedback for programme evaluation 
• Pre- and post-session reflections (required for all families) 
• Data processing under safeguarding and GDPR guidelines 

📸 Photo/video consent is optional and will be asked separately. 
Declining media consent does not affect eligibility. 

Families who cannot commit to the required feedback and participation activities cannot be offered a session, as they are essential to the Test & Learn evaluation. 

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Who Can Apply 
To ensure this pilot reaches the families it is designed for: 

• Applicants must live in Brent 
• Families must be immediate family only 
  (1 parent/legal guardian + children aged 6–16 living in the same household) 
• Up to 4 family members per session 
• Families should be able to participate in all required activities 
• SEND families are welcome 

Priority will be given to families who: 

• Live in or near St Raphael’s / Wembley Ward 
• Are new to organised sport or wellbeing activities 
• Have been referred by schools, community groups, youth workers, or faith leaders 
• Would benefit from a therapeutic, confidence-building family session 

🛼 What Your Family Will Receive 
Each one-hour private session includes: 

• A qualified RollaDome coach 
• All skates and safety equipment 
• Step-by-step skating guidance 
• Activities focused on teamwork, communication, and fun 
• A short feedback/reflection activity 
• A safe, encouraging space for family bonding
